What are you making now? No way to answer this
Just under 120k. I am no longer at EY. Currently at another B4.
Random question: if you’ve been mainly pumping out returns for 6 years do you not worry that you won’t know how to do the other tasks this new job will require?
I've done other tasks as well even though my main focus was compliance and I was candid about that during the interview
What type of role?
Tax manager. Will be doing many things including provision, planning, M&A and such. Compliance will be handled by one of the B4. Lean tax team and I will be number 2 reporting to tax director.
That sounds like a director salary in B4 financial services tax (base plus bonus) for high performer and I have to imagine there will be little upward mobility and raises over the years in this new role…most I know in industry max out around that salary (30+ years experience). Making partner is certainly more lucrative but not sure what your path to partner looks like.
I would say my chance to be a partner is slim at this point. Still in the early manager years and I recently moved from EY to another B4.
Don’t take it and send me the details 😂
