I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”. Currently working with IBM with 10+ yoe having joined IBM 10 months back. Currently at 25 lpa and getting an offer of 32 fixed+15% variable.

I got an offer to join a major company after I graduate. In 3 months they will run a background check. 8-9 years ago I had a drug charge that was DISMISSED. I was in an abusive relationship back then but sought therapy and I've been sober for many years. Do I need to worry about the dismissed charge coming back to haunt me? I've heard in Texas employers only look back 7 years, and I've also heard since it was dismissed it wouldn't come up at all. Any advice?

Anyone feel frustrated at times with the super aggressive sales personalities we deal with? My AE is always pushing on every ask no matter how minuscule it is. My vp is super anal about anything we do. I understand these guys pull in huge commissions and bonuses that’s why they are so motivated. However what I personally feel is they just nag us until we do the job according to their spec. Just venting……anyone else feel the same?

We are starting to build our SE team after a successful pilot with one person. Have you ever built a team from the ground up? How did you prove out the business case? What was most effective for building the case for more hires?

Recruiter for big tech company reached out on LinkedIn about a role. I asked about ballpark compensation numbers and they said they’re only comfortable sharing on a live call. Replied that I often receive LinkedIn offers for roles of paycuts around 30-50% so I want to make sure we’re in the same rough range. Recruiter again said she would only share via live call. Is this a red flag?
