Thoughts on Crafting Cases’ Analytics Academy? Could you use only this resource to sufficiently prepare for the quantitative part of a case interview at MBB?

I interviewed at MBB a couple of years ago, got through the case interview and all and was finally rejected and the feedback given was that I was too passionate about the specific industry the role was tailored to and that it might be difficult to lead me. I already knew during the interview process that I had fucked up because there were a couple of occasions where I made the interviewers look dumb and that it was evident I knew more than them about certain things. I wish I could undo it!

I have a case interview as a compensation/rewards consultant with MBB. Does anyone have any prep materials or recommendations on case interviews specific to rewards/compensation?

Got feedback after a commercial case interview (similar as MBB) for a PE role, I came off as too "frameworky" (assuming not very organic conversation) and my frameworks were a bit too general. Rest was fine from what I understand. Any tips to improve on this?

I have some generalist MBB interviews coming up- My background is in health & science not business- so applying things like logic models&theory of change models is much more natural for me rather than 3cs, etc. I feel they can be adapted for many case prompts, & I can apply them more confidently- but I don’t want to seem as if I’m thinking too out of the box

A bit stressed about my application timeline for MBB… I’m still practicing casing and am not ready for the real thing yet, but I heard it could take months for the firms to get back regarding a first round interview. Should I apply now or wait to apply until I’m ready for the case interview?

What's the MBB case interview like for analytics? Is it a take home and then explain your work type thing?

Hey everyone, I am a recent graduate and just started working( 1 year work experience so far) but want to transition to strategy consulting (tier 2/ Big four/MBB) but I am starting from scratch with my prep for the case interviews and I’m curious on understanding if I can effectively/efficiently prepare for a case interview with free resources online as I am sceptical about paying some of the steep prices for coaching?

How long do we get in our final round for one case interview?

I have COVID for the first time rn, but I'm currently in MBB case interview preparation mode, so I want to give my body time to sleep, rest, and do well, but even with sleep aids, my mind is wide awake and wants to convert random improper fractions to decimals in my head, do case problems, and more 🤕

How would you suggest shutting down when your mind is overstimulated and you're trying to sleep? Melatonin isn't doing it - nor is NyQuil. I'm cutting back on D3 to see if that improves my sleep.

Capital One case interview experience vs MBB? From what I understand, Cap 1’s cases are strictly business scenarios which is sometimes not the case in MBB. Any other insights?

I had a case interview for MBB specialist role but didn’t excel at the math part as I thought I would. I’m generally good with math, I just had a lapse in judgment for one particular part of the case… I got the rest fairly right and landed a good conclusion + had positive interaction with interviewer: Is there a chance I make it through?

Where are the best online case interview coaches? Looking specifically to get into MBB within two weeks. I’m somewhat experienced at it and would like the practice/feedback

Hi MBB folks. I wanted to check something on structuring. I’m getting feedback from other candidates that having an initial structure of more than 3 buckets is considered bad? Is there any truth to this? Not sure if this should be on the case interview group instead but wanted feedback from folks in the firms. I’m preparing for Mckinsey specifically right now.

Someone asked me and I had no clue so posting here. If someone wants to join MBB laterally as an EM or Principal from industry or prior non-MBB consulting background then will they be required to go through the case interview grind or is it more behavioral / fit at that level?

In an MBB virtual case interview, is it acceptable to ask if a calculator or spreadsheet is allowed for any questions? I feel like we’re at the point where it’s wasting both our time assessing mental math capabilities.

What is the process when you jump between MBB?
Do we really need to do whole process from test to case interview all over again?
If you ask why, in my country, BCG & Bain paid more and doing studies that I have more interested in (Digital, Tech clients,...).

Which summer internship would be most attractive to MBB for FT recruiting - LEK, EYP or tech?
Currently a first year MBA at a target school. I did not land a summer internship with MBB (messed up during case interview) and want to try again in the fall. I’m optimistic about my chances with LEK and EYP for the summer but now also considering tech strategy roles. PreMBA experience was in boutique, niche consulting.

Hi all! I have interviews at BCG coming soon and I need to get up to speed on case interview preparation. I’ve never had MBB case interviews before and I’ve just started my preparation on crafting cases. I’m hearing quite a lot that it is important to practice with other people to have an optimal preparation and was wondering how true it was? I have nobody to practice with at the moment and I honestly don’t realise how crucial it is… any thoughts ?
