Do you think remote hires are less safe when layoffs come or is that an old school mentality?

Why do some people get laid off and others not? Is it always utilization? Do people typically know they're at risk before it gets to that point?

Wow...Massive layoffs at PwC continue. Just saw 3 of my colleagues get canned.

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

Want to warn stakeholders that their hostile, posturing emails with our main client CC'd is only going to backfire (main client ❤️ us). emails will no joke prob get some of them fired. #restructuring

We’re in such a vicious business. You give your heart & soul to an agency, a client, a brand. Then the wind changes & you’re laid off, reassigned, chewed up, spit out, on to the next. I’m tired.

Well, I was the one who broke it off. I couldn’t get him to love me the way I needed or even respect me enough. It’s been 6 weeks of not seeing each other. We messaged this week. He doesn’t get it…. His messages show he still doesn’t know what he wants. Yet, if I am totally honest, I hate how part of me wishes he would do a grand gesture/finally decide to be a better man. It’s delusional. Looking for referrals for a Technical Sales Executive position that is Remote (USA), possibly in the industrial sector.
